One UI 7 Update: Eligible Devices and What’s Taking So Long

Windows Intelligence

Samsung fans, the wait for One UI 7 is almost over—or so we hope! Rumors suggest the beta program might kick off in mid-November, with a stable rollout expected by early next year. But let’s address the elephant in the room: bugs. Yes, according to tipster Ice Universe, the One UI 7 beta (with firmware ending in XKB) is reportedly plagued with animation glitches and other unexpected issues. Not exactly the smooth rollout we were hoping for.

Still, Samsung promises big things: a redesigned interface, enhanced privacy, better multitasking, optimized battery life, and deeper customization options. So, which devices will get these goodies? Let’s break it down.

Flagship Galaxy Devices

Samsung’s top-tier Galaxy S and Z series will be the first in line. This includes:

  • Galaxy S Series: S21, S21 FE, S22, S23 (including FE), and the upcoming S24 lineup.
  • Galaxy Z Series: Z Flip 3/4/5/6 and Z Fold 3/4/5/6.

These flagships will likely see the update hit their devices between January and March 2024.

Tablets and Mid-Range Stars

Samsung’s tablet lineup isn’t left behind either, with the Galaxy Tab S9, S8, A9, and Active 4 Pro among the confirmed list. Meanwhile, mid-range powerhouses like the Galaxy A, M, and F series will follow suit in 2025. Expect the A34, A54, M54, F14, and F55 to shine bright when the update drops.

Noteworthy Omissions

Devices older than the Galaxy S21 and budget heroes like the A52 and A72 won’t join the One UI 7 party. But hey, Samsung’s commitment to supporting even mid-range and budget devices is still commendable.

Beta Release Timeline

The beta update is rumored to debut first on the Galaxy S24 series in South Korea and the US on November 17. Afterward, countries like Germany, India, and the UK could follow. Fingers crossed that Samsung sorts out those pesky bugs in time!
