Huawei is gearing up for the release of its next big foldable device, the Mate X6, set to launch on November 26. The device is already available for registration on Huawei’s Vmall online store, giving us an early glimpse of what to expect.
The Mate X6 will feature a sleek design with four cameras arranged in a circular island on the back, offering a modern and eye-catching look. If it weren’t for the repositioned periscope lens for the telephoto camera, we might have mistaken it for one of its predecessors, such as the Mate X3 or Mate X5. This camera arrangement suggests Huawei is refining its foldable photography game with an emphasis on versatility and zoom.
One notable feature is the flat power key, which also acts as a fingerprint scanner—an interesting design choice as it means there will be no under-display fingerprint sensor or one integrated into the foldable screen. This change could point to improved reliability and performance, as physical sensors tend to be more accurate than their under-display counterparts.
In terms of color options, the Mate X6 will come in a range of stylish finishes. Alongside the Red Leather and Nebula Ash (gray) variants, there will also be Black, White, and Blue choices, allowing users to select the aesthetic that best suits their style. Additionally, the Mate X6 will be available in three different memory configurations: 12GB of RAM with 512GB of storage, 16GB of RAM with 512GB of storage, and a high-end 16GB of RAM with a massive 1TB of storage.
With registrations closing on Tuesday morning and the actual sale scheduled to begin shortly thereafter, Huawei’s latest foldable is set to make waves in the smartphone world. Fans of foldables will be eager to see how the Mate X6 stacks up against competitors like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series.
