Honor Rolls Out MagicOS 9.0 Beta with New Camera Features and Enhanced Performance

Honor has begun releasing the first beta of MagicOS 9.0, version 9.0.0.116, bringing several improvements to its lineup, especially in camera functionality. This update marks a significant step for MagicOS since its debut in late October, with Honor quickly opening its doors to beta testers for hands-on feedback. Supported devices for the closed beta include the Magic 6 series, Magic 5 series, and foldable models such as the Magic V3, Vs3, and V2. To participate, users must already be on firmware version 8.0.1.173 or 8.0.1.172.

The latest MagicOS beta introduces a range of new features, with particular focus on the camera. A new zoom effect for fan icons enhances the interface’s visual appeal, while various tweaks to the camera settings make capturing images smoother and more intuitive. Enhancements have also been made to the YOYO Suggestions, offering users improved AI-based recommendations tailored to their usage habits. The beta includes improvements to Private Space, a privacy feature that ensures sensitive data remains secure, giving users a greater sense of control.

Beyond the camera and privacy upgrades, MagicOS 9.0 refines the Car Connect feature and optimizes navigation with Amap. These improvements make car-related tasks more seamless and convenient, ideal for users who rely on their devices for in-car navigation and connectivity. The update also brings polished fonts and enhanced stability, giving the interface a cleaner, more refined look and feel.

For now, only those enrolled in the testing program will receive the 9.0.0.116 beta update, but Honor plans to release it to a wider audience in the coming months. This update offers a promising look at what’s to come in the next phase of MagicOS, setting a high bar for efficiency, functionality, and design in Honor’s latest software.
